GQ, along with Movado, congratulate the 2010 Better Men Better World Search winner, Jimmie Briggs, for his dedicated work towards ending violence against women worldwide.

Jimmie Briggs is a tireless advocate on behalf of women and girls worldwide. Two years ago he started the Man Up Campaign to end violence against women and girls in all of its forms—domestic violence, rape, prostitution, trafficking, etc. Very few men have taken on the fight to protect women. Jimmie has devoted his life to stopping sexual violence.

Launched at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Jimmie gathered young people from 25 countries to begin a youth-led global movement against violence against women and girls. The Man Up Campaign will change the mindsets of young people, helping them understand that it is not ok to abuse women—and that everyone needs to stand up, or Man Up, to break the cycle of violence.

As the 2010 winner, Jimmie Briggs received:

  • A promotional feature in GQ
  • $10,000 donated by Movado® to his charity – The Man Up Campaign
  • Recognition at The Gentleman’s Ball
  • $2,000 cash
  • A Movado® Watch
