Education is a basic human right. It's an imperative. Only education will break the cycles of poverty, disease, and injustice that plague so many of the world's children. Yet every year more than 100 million children miss out on the benefits of an education. The Gentlemen's Fund® initiative, HP, and Ashton Kutcher believe that number should be zero and that's why they support UNICEF's education programs.

UNICEF works to ensure that all children have access to a rights-based, quality education. Their innovative programs and initiatives target the world's most disadvantaged children: the excluded, the vulnerable, and the invisible. These efforts involve action at all levels because the empowerment of the world's children is the responsibility of the entire global community. If we make this commitment now, the investment will yield benefits for generations to come.

Since 1970 global under-five deaths have fallen by more than 54%. Still 21,000 children die every day from preventable causes. UNICEF and partners are standing at the cusp of a new child survival revolution to leverage powerful new interventions to help every child achieve the milestone of a fifth birthday. Once children reach age five, they are far more likely to survive to adulthood. Join us to help more children achieve their fifth birthday.

Many new mothers in China find themselves battling traditional beliefs and misconceptions when it comes to their babies’ nutritional needs. For this new generation of mothers, social media and microblogs have become a valuable source of information, and UNICEF is conducting a new social media campaign to support mothers during the first months of their babies’ lives. The online campaign has attracted over a million fans, and is a popular place for mothers to connect and gather helpful information about child care, breastfeeding and nutrition.
